Grace School Is In Full Swing
The Lord has given us new direction here at the ministry. Monday Night Manna has now developed into Grace School. I all realized that we all had previously been so inundated with mixture that the Lord was showing me we needed to deliberately and methodically teach Grace. It is all about Him and He is Grace.
Nearly all of us were born into mixture. We received salvation in a mixture environment. It is a situation that is kind of like the Hatfield's and the McCoy's. Down through time, the truth was obscured and very misdirected until they didn't even remember what they were fighting about. Know for a fact that the people who were teaching us loved us and simply taught us what they had been taught.
The Word of God is infallible in its original form - there is no question about that. However, because of the religious influence of particular times in history - translations, perhaps not so much. This is becoming more obvious all the time.
When I began to teach many years ago, my desire to understand and to use the correct definition of a word was in full swing. I would rush to the dictionary to be sure of what that word meant. Little did I know or understand that down through the ages, the definitions of many of the original words used in the Bible had taken on the influence of the religious thought of the day. A good example of this is the word repent. According to Strong's Exhaustive Concordance, the word Repent, metanoeo, means: to think differently or afterwards i.e. reconsider (Paul A.D. 56-on). You may commonly hear the phrase: change your way of thinking. However, Webster's New World Dictionary, (1828) primarily defines repent as: to feel sorry or self reproachful for what one has done or not done; be conscience-stricken or contrite. Because we were raised on Webster, that is the definition the church at large became familiar with and quoted from the platforms of churches around the world. This is how the religious thought of that day has influenced its definition.
Jesus open His ministry with that awesome announcement in Matthew 4:17 (KJV) From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. By original definition, it certainly is not a stretch to paraphrase and say: "Change your way of thinking - I am here to establish the Kingdom". Why would they need to change? Because they had lived under the mindset of the law for hundreds of years and He had come to bring big change. John 1:17 (KJV) For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. Just sayin' - Bible definition preempts Webster. It came first.
This is only the tip of the iceberg, so as to say. The Holy Spirit is extremely active these days, leading and guiding us into all truth. He is the great Revelator. Truth is a freedom maker. Jesus said we would know the truth and the truth would make us free. This is what this ministry is all about. I have a great appetite to see people free and it comes through revelation and relationship with the Father. This is the heart of Grace School. I pray you will be both encouraged and edified by what you find here. We have only just begun ... Abundant Grace - Brenda
