This morning when I sat down at my computer, I thought on just how I would begin to put my thoughts down on paper. Then I had to laugh at myself. How many times have we tried to do anything we do outside of who we are – apart from who we actually are?
Let me give you an example and you will see where I am coming from. I am a Word teacher at heart. I love the Word of God and I love to teach it. I would rather teach than eat and I tremendously enjoy good food. For me to sit down and try to put anything down on paper and not teach a little is almost impossible. It is really something that requires a lot of work. You see, it is who I am at heart. It is what God has called me to do and it fits like a glove. It satisfies me like nothing else can. Remember John 4:34 (AMP) Jesus said to them, My food (nourishment) is to do the will (pleasure) of Him Who sent Me and to accomplish and completely finish His work.
How many people are trying to do something they are not called to do? Maybe you are even one of them. So many people are not doing what they are called to do. They may be trying to fill someone else shoes, desperately trying to please either someone they admire or someone they love. They are in a job they can do but it really doesn’t fulfill their heart’s desire. They don’t feel complete or even really satisfied with life because they are not doing what they were made by the Master to do. We really are unique, each one of us and we were designed by Him as individuals with a plan, with a calling and until we follow that we will never be truly satisfied and content. 2 Timothy 1:9 (KJV) Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
There are times in our life when we do what “we have to do to get by”. But that is not God’s best for us. He has a real plan – a plan that will work in our life. Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV) For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Ephesians 2:10 (AMP) For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].
We have dreams but we must remember that He is the Dream Giver. We have to ask Him to help us be who He has ordained that we should be, not just in our character but in our calling. There is a place for all those “natural” gifts (that’s what we call them) and abilities to be loosed in you and me.
Psalms 37:4-5 (KJV) Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
What are you good at and are you doing it? Do you have a dream? Go to the Dream Giver and ask for His Help – He will you know. Let the Holy Spirit lead and guide you into all truth and ask Him to open your eyes to the plan of God for your life. Trust Him. Let the Spirit of God give you understanding. You are unique and special. Be delighted!
